Legacy Giving

Your Legacy, Our Future

By including the Special Forces Trust in your estate plans, you ensure that our mission to provide timely and sustainable support to the Special Forces Community and their families continues for generations to come. A legacy gift is a powerful way to make a significant impact without affecting your current cash flow or lifestyle.

Simple Ways to Make a Legacy Gift

1. Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD)

If you are 70½ or older, you can give up to $105,000 per year (2026) directly from your IRA to a qualified non-profit. This can satisfy your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) for your traditional retirement accounts and may offer significant tax advantages, especially if you do not itemize your deductions but make charitable donations.

2. Beneficiary Designations

This is usually the simplest way to give and does not require a lawyer. You can name the Special Forces Trust as a beneficiary of your:

• IRA, 401(k), 403(b), TSP, or other Retirement Accounts

• Life Insurance Policies

• Bank Accounts (Payable on Death) or Brokerage Accounts (Transfer on Death)

3. A Bequest in Your Will

The most common way to give. You can designate a specific dollar amount, a particular asset, or a percentage of your remaining estate to be transferred to the Trust after your lifetime.

Sample Bequest Language:

"I give, devise, and bequeath to the Special Forces Trust, a non-profit corporation located at PO Box 53, Southern Pines, NC 28387, the sum of $_______ [OR _______% of my estate] to be used for its general exempt purposes."
